Education Program
Kidron Valley Ministries operates a primary school serving children Pre-K through 6th grade (approximately 11 years old). With a dedicated team of 13 educators, support staff, and a Headmaster, the school provides not only academics but also life skills, co-curricular activities, and sports. Each day, 300 students from Naminya and the surrounding villages receive both education and nutritious meals.
Thanks to funding from Jopri and its generous team of supporters, the school has been able to establish a computer lab, equipping students with essential technology skills for secondary school, higher education, and future careers. This year, they aim to expand their curriculum to include formal computer training and classes.
However, teacher retention remains a challenge. The average teacher salary in Uganda is approximately $150–$160 per month, yet Kidron's dedicated educators earn less than half that amount—making it difficult for them to sustain their livelihoods. Despite these hardships, they remain committed to their students out of a deep sense of purpose. To ensure the school continues to be led by qualified, passionate teachers, Kidron is seeking support to raise staff salaries to at least the local average.
Jopri is already halfway to its goal of securing recurring monthly donations to make this a reality. With your support, we can not only implement these much-needed salary increases but also move forward with our next initiative: introducing sports for social change programs.
Join us in investing in these students, their educators, and the future of Kidron Valley Ministries.
